Interrogations: The 3rd Degree on August 3rd

The Anacostia Dialogues: A Long Night at the MPD Violent Crime Branch

The Peacock documentary featured portions of the Price, Ward and Zaborsky interrogations that were conducted hours after Robert’s murder, but we have the complete set. We obtained these tapes in August of 2010, a few months after the trial but they were somehow lost when our media library crashed.

True to our C-SPAN roots, we’re posting them in their entirety here. The tapes were played midway through the trial, around days 5-7. Interrogation transcripts are also online: this is Price; this is Ward; this is Zaborsky. Let’s go to the videotape(s):

I’m praying that the documentary and current attention does turn up critical new information and that justice is finally served. Thank you for keeping the blog up. I read it obsessively from its beginning and still can’t believe where we are. My heart goes out to Kathy and Robert’s family and friends.

A sleepwalking theory will be dismissed as absurd by people who have no history of sleepwalking but I can’t dismiss it because I’m a lifelong sleepwalker. I’ve ripped a bookcase off a wall, taken clothing out of my closet, washed it in the sink and put it on soaking wet, climbed out a window and hid in the bushes….. lots of weird stuff.

People don’t always just stumble around like zombies when they sleepwalk. They can do complex actions.

There’s a low, but greater than zero chance, that Dylan killed Robert in a sleepwalking episode after taking sleeping pills,
and knows that he did it, hence the cover up.

Kay,

I don’t think it is absurd at all. I flew across the country and everything that entails (getting a taxi, going through security, boarding) and I had no recollection of it. I was on an Ambien. Yes, we can do very complex actions. When on Ambien you do actions that are part of your regular day, not things that are out of the ordinary for you. Dylan was a sadist in his relationship with Joe, so I don’t think this is out of the realm of possibility. My concerns are Dylan took a Lunesta, not an Ambien, which does not have the documented sleepwalking issues. Second, he didn’t have much time asleep, which would allow him to get into a deep sleep. On balance, I don’t think that it is the case, but it is not coming out of right field either.
