Weekend At Bernie's

Leftover Turkey Amuse-bouche:  Monday will bring the latest round of motions filed.  The Government responded, with some very strong language, to the defense request to keep Judge Weisberg on the Wone case.  That of course brought another response from the defense.  And it seems all discovery disputes have been settled; all except for one single item. ...

Burn After Reading

Fahrenheit 1509 At midnight on the steamy evening of August 2, 2006, DC Police arrived at 1509 Swann Street to begin a murder investigation.   An investigation that supposedly continues to this day. On the floor of Dylan Ward’s bedroom they found an issue of the New Yorker opened to an article penned by the late John Updike entitled, “Late Works:...

You Can Do It Kid… The outpouring at Robert’s memorial service was a testament to his rich but all too short life.  For those of us not fortunate to have known him, we draw from what was said by his closest friends and family.  Sixteen heartfelt eulogies eulogies were delivered that August day; the magnitude of the loss becomes...

Who's Doing What?

02/02/2009

Defendants Fill Time An occasional question among us is: “What are Price, Zaborsky, and Ward doing right now?” Of course, we would often ask this in the dark of the night, during the period the three defendants were still wearing those court-ordered electronic ankle bracelets that kept them under constant track, and when they...

Who Murdered Robert Wone?

By Doug

Truth Hits the Law A video, assembled from elements we have taken ourselves and other media. I shall offer no other comment than to say that this, encapsulated, is what we are asking here. With all the digging about into this person’s sexual past or that person’s publishing history, one might ask: “Dudes,...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
