The Truthiness of Sarah Morgan

Does New Information Call Into Question Morgan’s Testimony? Three months ago today, Joe Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward walked away from a prison sentence.  Their freedom granted because the judge in the bench trial was unable to find guilt “beyond a reasonable doubt” based on the evidence in the case.  This decision may sound...

Day 11: Updates

4:45pm: Adjournment Tara Ragone completed testimony and cross.  She yielded another headline regarding what Joe Price may have done with the knife.   The day ended with AUSA T. Patrick Martin starting his direct of MPD Homicide Detective Bryan Waid.  In between all that was even more discussion on the admissability of the defendants’ statements.  Of course there...

Winners and Losers

Govt’s Streamlined Case Up Ends the C.W.  Who Wins and Loses? Friday’s status hearing revealed that the government was “winnowing” their case as the May 10 trial date draws near. By dropping  many of the uncharged conducted aspects and focusing only on the charges against the defendants, the government dramatically changed the contours of the trial. With this...

Craig's List

Twenty for Twenty-Ten We learned quite a bit over the course of 2009.  Among the highlights: MPD Officer Diane Durham’s end-of-shift statement that contradicted the Trouple’s story on where they discovered Robert; the fact that all three of the housemates either left their places of employment voluntarily or not; a change in judges for the...

The Grand Jury

First Movement Three weeks to the day after Robert’s murder, the Washington Post was leaked information about grand jury testimony that was taking place: Katherine Wone, 35, wife of Robert Wone, testified for more than an hour about “her interaction with the three guys in the house, both immediately after the incident and the days that followed,”...

Search and Seizure… and Snooze

Burying the Lede After the first wave of media coverage hit on August 4th and 5th, the next significant piece was on the 14th by Emma Schwartz of the Legal Times.  And she had the goods - the search warrants for Price’s home, his office and computers at Arent Fox, and his BMW 325. Included is this bombshell:  the crime scene, “had...

Upstairs, Downstairs

The House of Morgan What we know about Sarah Morgan and her relationship with the three Swann Street housemates is somewhat limited.  Her silence since the murder has helped ensure she remains a riddle.  We’ve been told that she was initially close to Victor Zaborsky and he may have been the one to bring her into the...

How the Coming Battle Over Evidence Will Shape The Trial’s Outcome No doubt many readers of this site – we’re looking your way, legal eagles – have far more experience and expertise in this subject than any of us.  Still, we’re in agreement that the brewing legal battle over what evidence can and can’t be...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
