Did Joe Price Change His Story Within Minutes? With all eyes focused on this Friday’s status hearing, it seems something else buried in this summer’s motions has gone overlooked. As the AUSA, FBI and defense teams wrestle it out over potential biologic evidence and high-tech testing, an old-school statement by the first responding MPD officer on...

Without a Net

“What’s the Story with Dylan?” We’ve seen the evolution of the Swann Street defendants’ legal representation; Price and Zaborsky first reaching out to friend Kathleen Voelker, and Ward’s immediate retaining of David Schertler.  MetroWeekly’s Bob Roehr saw the looming challenges: Parson acknowledges that with lawyers for the residents having become involved so quickly and the lack...

Search and Seizure… and Snooze

Burying the Lede After the first wave of media coverage hit on August 4th and 5th, the next significant piece was on the 14th by Emma Schwartz of the Legal Times.  And she had the goods - the search warrants for Price’s home, his office and computers at Arent Fox, and his BMW 325. Included is this bombshell:  the crime scene, “had...

Let’s All Be Careful Out There. UPDATE: MPD Chief of Police Cathy Lanier postpones “Ask the Chief” program on WTOP. At the time of Robert’s murder, Charles Ramsey was in his eighth and final year as MPD Chief of Police.  His tenure was certainly full – the Sept. 11th attacks, the Chandra Levy murder, the...

The Day After

145 Words Very little was known about Robert’s murder when the first news item was filed, 17 hours later by WTOP, DC’s all news radio station. To be more specific, very little was known by those not in the house at the time of Robert’s slaying.  Other details would emerge in the weeks, months and...

Standard Operating Procedure

Questions for Chief Lanier About The Investigation As weeks pass here at WMRW, we seem to amass more questions than answers.  About the circumstances of Robert’s murder, its prosecution, and the principle and secondary players involved.  Frustrating as it is, this seems natural in a complex case such as this. Unfortunately there’s also a growing list of...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
