Friends And Family

Set Another Place at the Table In Harry Jaffe’s treatise, we’re told that Eric Holder gave Robert’s close friend Jason Torchinsky “…the sense that Robert Wone was considered part of the Covington family…”  and that the law firm would represent the Wone family in every way possible.  So far that has proven to be the case. That family...

WMRW Asks WWRD?  On the seventh day, they kept posting. Holidays have been marked here before, and maybe this day in particular is worth a rare Sunday post, since much of what we’ve learned about Robert’s life and contributions were deeply rooted in his faith in God and his fellow man. In addition to learning about Robert’s all-too-short life, we’ve all taught ourselves about the...

Peace On Earth

Goodwill Towards Men There may be no better time than the holiday season to once again ask readers to consider making a (hefty) contribution to the Robert Wone Memorial Trust.  Robert’s family established the Trust, in which funds are distributed to some of his favorite projects and causes. Robert’s longtime friend Jason Torchinsky is the Trust’s administrator...

You Can Do It Kid… The outpouring at Robert’s memorial service was a testament to his rich but all too short life.  For those of us not fortunate to have known him, we draw from what was said by his closest friends and family.  Sixteen heartfelt eulogies eulogies were delivered that August day; the magnitude of the loss becomes...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
