Standing Room Only

More From The Hearing  (Updated Throughout, Video, WRC-TV) Room 318 of the Moultrie Courthouse was packed this morning: three defendants, four defense attorneys, two Assistant US Attorneys, one presiding judge and a gallery of nearly one hundred spectators and media.  High turnout and high interest. Judge Frederick Weisberg got things underway by admitting he didn’t have...

…To Sleep, Perchance…

But Who Knows What Dreams May Come? We’ve been parsing the original affidavit lately, hunting for things perhaps overlooked, trying to fit together the pieces of Robert Wone’s murder. Among the more difficult pieces to explain is the reaction of Ward, Price and Zaborsky on the first arrival of the EMTs at 11:54pm.   The first technician,...

A Small Price In August 2007, one year after the murder of Robert Wone, Dylan Ward’s attorney David Schertler said “Nobody wants the intruder to be identified and arrested more than these three men.” He was referring to occupants of 1509 Swann Street which includes Joseph Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward.  We take David...

Wone: 101

Better Late Than Later We’ve noticed the chatter on process lately in the comment sections. One task we’d been meaning to tackle was an FAQ and a one-pager on this effort that will help new visitors better understand the crime, players, cases and our involvement.  Hopefully this will also help to clarify any questions about our approach. This will become a...

How the Coming Battle Over Evidence Will Shape The Trial’s Outcome No doubt many readers of this site – we’re looking your way, legal eagles – have far more experience and expertise in this subject than any of us.  Still, we’re in agreement that the brewing legal battle over what evidence can and can’t be...

Friends at a Party

Overlapping Circles This weekend the four of us attended a small, informal get together in the Washington area.  Literally: one of dozens of similar affairs that night held by gay Washingtonians, and nothing out of the ordinary.  Save for the fact that several other party-goers are, or were, in the same social circles as Joe Price, Dylan...

Open House – 2nd Viewing

Price(d) Right When they finished talking, Price, Ward and Wone went upstairs, Wone to take a shower and Ward to retire to his room. Price went on up to the 3rd floor to join Victor Zaborsky who had already gone to bed. The 2nd floor features 2 bedrooms, an open den/loft area, and a shared bath....

Forget it Joe, it’s Chinatown The following guest post comes from Arthur, a reader of ours from the Asian American community.  Arthur posted this back in the comments a week or so ago and we thought it deserved some bigger play.  Fore warned: he is passionate, articulate and pulls no punches here.  Arthur’s  been following...

Show Us Some Leg Late yesterday afternoon we learned that attorneys for Dylan Ward filed a  motion for a Bill of Particulars with Judge Frederick Weisberg.  Defense team David  Schertler and Robert Spagnoletti are asking for more information and details on the individual acts that make up the many charges.  They want to see the  ”who, what, when, where...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
