CASE NUMBER: 06-1837

The Toxicology Report For the past three years, case watchers have held many unanswered questions regarding several aspects of drugs, testing and blood samples.  Both prosecution and defense teams have shared some of those questions. In the original affidavit, the government theorizes that prior to his stabbing Robert Wone was injected with paralytics.  They base this on two...

Blood From A Stone

Blood From A Stone

What Robert Wone Still May Be Able To Tell Us If forensics teaches anything it’s that human bodies have stories to tell, sometimes long after life has left.  We just have to know what questions to ask and be listening. In this case, barring exhumation, only three cc’s of blood is all that physically remains of...

Birthday Boy

What Do You Give The Man Who Has… Dylan Ward, or as he’s known to those in the DC criminal justice system and at Superior Court as CF1-026996, celebrates his 39th birthday today.  There was no way we’d  let this day go by without sharing.  We’re sometimes tardy, but we never forget.  39 years old;  the Jack Benny birthday. ...

Fear and Loathing on Swann Street

A Savage Journey Into The Heart Of Dylan Ward’s Bedtime Reading  Famous Last Words, William Shakespeare by Ralph Steadman, 2006 One of the more sensational pieces of evidence cited by the MPD in the affidavit of arrest for Dylan Ward is a “full-page drawing of William Shakespeare lying dead in bed: his body shown positioned similar...

Could Robert Wone Have Been Drugged?

02/06/2009

Perspective from a Forensic Post-Mortem Toxicologist Among the puzzles at the center of the Robert Wone murder mystery are medical questions of what chemical agents might have been used with or without Mr. Wone’s consent to render him in a condition the coroner termed, “…alive but incapacitated.” In response to a recent post, a reader offered...

How Did Robert Wone Die?

02/06/2009
By Doug

Answers to Questions David’s recent post elicited a number of responses, including this question: Anonymous writes: “do the court documents indicate that he died from stab wounds or were those post-mortem?” The original affidavit indicting Dylan Ward on obstruction of justice indicates the autopsy was conducted by Dr. Lois Goslinoski, deputy medical examiner for the District of...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
