As Time Goes By

Going Back to Moultrie It’s been nearly six months since the verdict came down in the criminal case.  Judge Lynn Leibovitz’ summertime dose of  cold comfort has given way to an unseasonable blast of frigid weather here in America’s Hockey Capital. Today marks our second trip to Judiciary Square since the June 29 ruling; the last was...

The Trial Takes Shape Other than getting Judge Lynn Leibovitz’ rulings on experts and evidence from yesterday’s motions hearing, we got a clearer picture from her, the government and the defense team on what the trial’s structure will look like. Despite the “winnowing”, when it comes to this trial’s length it’s time to stop thinking in...

Seven Days In May

One Week from Trial, and the Defense Closes Ranks As we head into the final week before the scheduled May 10 trial start, a final flurry of documents have accumulated in the DC Superior Court clerk’s office.  Most regard defense efforts to limit or exclude certain evidence and testimony.  At the close of business at Wednesday’s day-long...

Uncharged Conduct II

Half the Story In the clerk’s office this week was thirty pages of Defense Joint Response to Government Notice of Uncharged Conduct II and Some Other Stuff.  Nowhere to be found was the government’s notice that this filing responds to, so this doc will have to serve as a study guide. In the government’s first uncharged...

Kicking Up Distractions Before the Court.  Why It Matters In modern times it dates back to December 15th, 1991.  H. Ross Perot – remember him? – then a member of the General Motors board, parried with GM CEO Roger Smith’s optimistic perspective of GM’s future.  Distilling Smith’s rosy sales pitch, Perot scooped imaginary dirt and...

The Third Degree: Price

Joe Price’s MPD Interview Transcript “It ain’t going to get fine.  It’s going to get ugly,” Price is told midway through his long night with good cop/bad cop at the Anacostia Violent Crimes Branch. There’s a lot in these 120 pages and still a lot we don’t know.  Were these transcripts from the videotaped part...

Government Quotes the Defendants’ Words Back At Them The Government responded earlier this week, not surprisingly, in opposition to the separate defense filings to suppress the defendants’ statements they gave the night of the murder from being entered at trial.  In doing so, AUSA Glenn Kirschner revealed new details about what Joe did immediately after finding Robert’s...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
