Leggy Investigator

A Defense Version Of What Happened Since news on the Robert Wone case has trickled to a standstill after the civil judgement, we thought this would be a good time to report something we heard. It seems that a certain investigator for the defense has not been discrete about what she thinks went down the...

Is The 5th On Rankin’s Mind?

At Least The Date Is… When Judge Rankin set the date for the next status hearing he noted that “Cinco De Mayo” was available.  Somehow we don’t think that he was intending to celebrate the Spanish holiday that commemorates the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. But, by scheduling...

Oldies but Goodies?

New Defense Witnesses  Raise Some Eyebrows The defendants offered their witness list, and not surprising, several of the expert witnesses who made star turns during the criminal trial last year are returning.  Moreover, the expert witness list notes how the defendants hope to shore up their weaknesses that the criminal trial highlighted.  Even so, what the list does show...

Waid-ing for the End

Defense Requests Deposition from Lead Detective Bryan Waid Do you remember Bryan Waid? The Defense certainly hasn’t forgotten him. In the MPD interrogation videos, otherwise known as the  Anacostia Dialogues, MPD Detective Bryan Waid was the most sympathetic of the questioners on the morning of August 3rd.  He allowed long period of silences between his questions to Joe Price; allowing...

Where’s Ward-o?

Could A Black-Out Spell Out Dylan Ward’s Where Abouts? During the 2004 Presidential Campaign, CBS News ran a story critical of President George W. Bush’s service in the Air National Guard. Right-leaning political bloggers immediately raised questions about the authenticity of the documents. They argued that the documents were more than likely forgeries because the typography...

La Davina

Was there a Cult of Callas on Swann Street? With the weather dipping into arctic freezing terrority this winter, it also seems that information about the Robert Wone case is moving at a glacial pace.  While we wait for movement, we thought we would turn to an issue that probably doesn’t have much bearing on the case, but...

Sounds Of Silence

Dylan Ward’s Eerily Quiet Deposition On November 10, a meeting room at the Pennsylvania Avenue law offices of Covington and Burling quickly filled up with people for a deposition in an impending civil suit.  If a meeting like this had happened five years ago, one of those people in the room could very well have been...

The Truthiness of Sarah Morgan

Does New Information Call Into Question Morgan’s Testimony? Three months ago today, Joe Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward walked away from a prison sentence.  Their freedom granted because the judge in the bench trial was unable to find guilt “beyond a reasonable doubt” based on the evidence in the case.  This decision may sound...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
