The Truthiness of Sarah Morgan

Does New Information Call Into Question Morgan’s Testimony? Three months ago today, Joe Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward walked away from a prison sentence.  Their freedom granted because the judge in the bench trial was unable to find guilt “beyond a reasonable doubt” based on the evidence in the case.  This decision may sound...

Track 29

The State of the Union at Union Station Sightings around town of the principals in the Wone case have been sporadic over the last year or so.  Some have been first person encounters, while others have come from very reliable sources.  Some seem to be plausible while there have been others we judged to be suspect and...

Autumn Leaves

Post Production We’re still waiting for the next document to hit, the expected defense response to the plaintiffs motion to compel third-party documents.  We thought it would surface this week but it hasn’t hit the clerk’s office yet.  We’ll keep an eye on the database today just in case it gets filed this afternoon.  But let’s be...

Twenty (One) Questions

When Answers Answer Little Monday we took at look at the pile of Joe Price emails sent from his Arent Fox office that Plaintiffs have requested in their Motion to Compel Production.  As we only have logs at this point, we learned little concrete other than dates, times, recipients, and one unusual name. Also part of...

Fox Hunt

Hounding Joe Price for his Arent Fox Emails Throughout Joe Price’s tenure at Arent Fox, the firm maintained a strict and unambiguous policy regarding email and voicemail which was revised several times.  Namely: they are the property of the firm regardless of subject matter, client business or personal – and there are no expectations of...

Positively 5th Street

Positively 5th Street

Thursday’s Twelve Minute Status Hearing  While changing gears from the criminal trial to a civil case, the contrasts are numerous and stark. The fifth floor of the Moultrie Courthouse where Judge Brook Hedge’s courtroom is located, seems miles away from the more desperate hallways of the lower levels where Judge Lynn Leibovitz and the criminal set rule.  Downstairs, government...

Mind Games?

Compare, Contrast, and Consider In the September 6 edition of The New Yorker, writer Carl Elliott profiles convicted murderer Colin Bouwer in a piece titled “Mind Games.”  It’s a cold tale of murder, deception, strange behavior and a town fooled by a man who nobody considered capable of murder.  Except, on reflection, many did. It’s...

FLASH: Wone Civil Trial Date DELAYED

This news fresh from the DC Superior Court and the desk of Judge Brook Hedge: “This case was initially set for trial June 13, 2011.  The potential length of trial, however, will present possible issues with juror selection in light of possible preplanned vacations.  Therefore, with the consent of the parties, the case is reset...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
