The Scarlet Letter

M Is For Murder For any associated with this case, there can’t be much joy today. For supporters of the defendants, relief at their friend’s acquittal may well be tempered by Judge Leibovitz’ stern findings that it’s “very probable” at least one of them knows more than he is saying. For supporters of the Wone family, it’s...

But Not Exoneration It took a sober and, at times soft-spoken, Judge Leibovtiz little more than an hour to plow through what she termed “…a very long and complicated legal trial.”  We have previously posted, and will post here again, Judge Leibovitz’ verdict in its entirety. Because the story of today may not be just in the...

It can be hard to keep clear sight – through the tangle of facts, allegations, evidence and challenges –...

Time Is Running Out We’ve all had 72 hours to contemplate the outcome of this trial, and have just 24 more to go. For those who decided to stay indoors away from the heat and catch up on the Defense’s Motion to Acquit and the Government’s Opposition,  many perhaps have formed an opinion on the decision...

Swann Streets’ Simmering Cauldron

Government’s Oppositional Motion to Acquit Highlights Defendants’ Relationship In AUSA Glenn Kirschner’s closing argument he started off very strong by saying the defendants story of how the events occurred on the night Robert was murdered was not consistent with”normal human action.”  He says that when Joe and Victor discovered Robert’s body “slaughtered in your guest...

The Waiting Game

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. – Carl Sagan Now, we wait. After nearly four long years, a verdict will be rendered. Will it answer the eponymous question that this website and committed community of commenters has pursued for nearly two years.  We all know the answer to our question is no. But, it will be...

Day 22: Wrap

The Patchwork of Suspicious Circumstances The final session of the final day of the Wone trial featured some of the strongest argument yet, from both sides.  David Schertler, for Dylan Ward, closed for the defense, and Rachel Carlson Lieber for the government’s rebuttal argument. First, the earlier session with Connolly.  He stated Zaborsky, “…didn’t have any...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
