Media Advisory

Start The Presses

As a rule, we purposely don’t reveal much information regarding readership or statistics.  Honoring the anonymity and confidentiality of users has always been a chief concern, and that’s worked pretty well.  For the more outgoing readers, we owe a serious debt to those who’ve reached out to us and maintain ongoing channels and relationships.  Pen Pals.

Every now and again we’ll try to root out the lurkers and those gentle nudges have paid off handsomely in the past.  Lawyers, check.  Who else is out there?

You know who you are: The regular readers from The Associated Press, New York Times, Advance Publications and the Fox News Channel, among others.

That’s as far as we’ll go in outing you.

Please consider dropping us a line to talk about any coverage plans you or your outlet may have of the upcoming trial, now just three weeks away.

If there are no plans, we’d like to talk about that as well.

In the works and set to hit in the next week or so will be a lengthy feature on the case, perhaps the definitive story written so far; a truely amazing read.

Don’t let that dissuade you; none of us would ask anyone to chase another journalist’s story.  We just want to talk.

Will Lisa or her network ever cover this story? Carrying Joe’s “purse” does beg some questions.

Excellent point. With Bernie a regular on Greta, and Lisa a CNN anchor, Joe’s got insiders at two news networks. You’d think one of the others would see this as particularly juicy (not to mention a classic whodunit).

The Fourth Estate remains a lazy, clubby affair, despite Miss Matt Drudge’s best efforts a decade ago to challenge corporate media.

No one dares to challenge Lisa, Greta, or Oprah: the “journalists” and “hosts” cannot be portrayed in a negative light, or else there will be hell to pay!

ROFL!

One of the reasons the media has not and will not cover the Wone case is because their biggest spending advertiser’s products are responsible for this tragedy.

Sepracor spends more than $300 million annually advertising Lunesta, accounting for 7% of all direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical advertising.

When this case is done we’ll see that the murder was a motiveless “sleep-stabbing” triggered by Lunesta.

You must be referring to a different aspect of this case; one that has yet to go to trial. Unless Lunesta has been demonstrated to trigger “sleep-cleaning” and elaborate cover-ups.

You know, I think Ben may be on to something. This seems like the only plausible idea, actually. I wonder why no one has thought of it before?

Dear Mr. Franklin:

Dear Mr. Barberich,

Please remit $20 million to Wone’s widow, parents, and each of the three defendants. It would be a gracious & kind way to make amends for the spectacularly tragic side-effect of one of Sepracor’s popular products.

The payees’ respective attorneys will prepare a confidential waiver to satisfy your shareholders and corporate officers.

Thank you for your kind cooperation,

Sincerely,
BenFranklin

Sorry guys, but who is Lisa?

TT, Lisa is Joe’s and Robert’s friend from college at W&M and was apparently the one (with Michael?) who picked up Joe at the police station. He’s heard on the cell phone asking if she has his wallet.

She’s also an anchor at CNN:

Thanks Bea! Why would Lisa have his wallet though? Unless he forgot to take it with him to the police station. But, that does not make any sense.

Got me. Some have speculated she was at the house – maybe she went by the house to get personal effects. Good question.

I know if I had to go to a police station, after an “intruder” entered my home and killed my friend, I would take my wallet.

I posited earlier, but it was in the thick of the Third Degree Posts storm so was probably overlooked, that Lisa was with Michael when Joe thought he was leaving the station after the first interview. If I have this right he was all the way out in the parking lot when the police oh-so-politely asked if they could have another brief word and he went back for a second interview. I think that at that moment he gave his wallet and probably rings and watch to her because he assumed he was about to be arrested and did not want to have these things with him.

My real interest is in way on earth she would be there at all. Were she and Joe on the sort of terms that he could summon her to the police station in the middle of the night? So it would seem, but how odd.

FOX News might have a field day reporting on CNN’s gay cover-up of the murder. Especially if Anderson Cooper fails to report on it.

Does Richard Quest have a sound alibi for the evening of August 2, 2006? Just wondering.

I do wonder if Lisa has also gone to bat for Mr. Quest, who has suddenly reappeared on TV after his very own scandal. Thanks, John, for reminding all of us of that rather awkward moment in network news.

Glad to see that you are still not into conspiriacy theories.

Is it your contention that a news organization has never reported on a story unflattering to one of the major advertisers of its carrier?

The truth is that even the manufacturers of Lunesta will see the benefits of publicizing the story once they get into themselves into a more objective and “depersonalized” state.

Forget about Lunesta, what about the producers of milk products. Given that Victor used to be the PR man for the milk lobby, I am sure that nobody associated with them will want to milk the story.

I suppose that since Joe, Vic & Dylan each used to work for Same Sex Marriage political organization and that some think that a conviction might reflect
badly on LGBT community that none of the Gay media will report on the case. Please tell that to both the editors of this blog and the DCAgenda.

Harvey MILK must be rolling over in his grave.

Forgive my naievte, but I really didn’t think about professional journalists trailing us at least not so closely. I mean that’s like being an intruder.

Please let us know when the big story hits.

I’ve been surprised that this case hasn’t attracted more national media attention. The case presents a compelling mystery with enough sordid details to attract a lot of interest. I suspect that there may be some hesitancy to focus on this story due to fear of a potential anti-gay angle. That is to say, this case could serve to confirm the fears of every anti-gay biggot, i.e., that if you peel back the mask of even the most apparently upstanding gay man you will find a wild sexual deviant.

So, Lisa, Nancy G., and Greta like gays so much that they don’t want to cover this story, but only their hairdressers know for sure.

So, the “liberal” media would rather pass on this story because it is too unsettling. And, the “conservative” media would rather pass on this story because it is too unsettling. A bipartisan silence has ensued because the “journalists” don’t want to lose any ratings points: thank G– for our Editors!
