This animation really dramatizes the depths that the formerly A-list couple have plumbed. Yet hope springs eternal for our boys. Perhaps, both Joe and Victor are getting unemployment compensation. And, there must be many "shovel-ready" stimulus projects in metro Washington that could use an ad man, a lawyer, and an author/masseuse. And, then, jail, just like Aunt Marcia, will provide shelter and three square meals a day. Taxpayers, be damned!

I just don't think Victor is as innocent as he seems. I think he and Joe have been through a lot and have no intentions of letting someone like Dylan come between them when it comes down to the wire. I don't underestimate their relationship or the power that Victor has in it. The way I see it, Joe runs his mouth and blows a lot of hot air, and Victor quietly puts up with a lot until its time to put his foot dow, and when he does, Joe listens. Joe may be controlling, but when it comes down to it, Victor has the real control.

I agree, AnnaZ. I've long thought that one of the reasons Victor doesn't "turn" is because he's afraid of repercussions. He knows something terrible went down that night. But he's stuck. He's stuck living with Joe and Dylan. What would happen if he told Joe and Dylan to move out? And what would happen if Joe gets a very light sentence and/or acquittal? Will Joe come back and make Victor (and/or Aunt Marsha) regret his decision? I hate to sound all Alfred Hitchcock, but accidents happen.

There was a murderer in that house that night. There is no telling WHAT could happen.

I think Dylan may be the one they would need to be worried about. I can see a "suicide" - complete with a note admitting to the entire thing. And then Victor and Joe can go about their merry way, and seek out another third for baby Joey.

This is very cute and everything, and we all hope that Victor is doing something like this, but it made me think of something serious.

Does Victor fear for his own life?

If not, why not?

If so (or even if not, as in if Victor is blind to the possibility of violence against himself), doesn't Connolly have a real obligation to advise Victor to physically get away from Joe, maybe even Dylan too (who knows)?

I have more than once had a bad premonition like feeling that I have pushed away and elected not to express here that things could end very badly. This little cartoon is actually a vignette that is alive with menace, and in that sense not funny at all. There was a terrible vicious crime committed by one or maybe two of these men. The motion to dismiss that the house-mates may have irrationally been hanging all of their hopes on was not only not granted, it was sort of ridiculed. Joe can not be happy about that.

The walls are closing in for these men.

There is at least one violent killer in that house. I can't help but wonder if that man, when he realizes that the conspiracy and obstruction charges are now really, really real and not going away and additionally virtually impossible to defend against and avoid incarceration might now look for another time-honored way out, a violent action against his co-conspirators and himself.

I hope Aunt Marcia has the sense to schedule that long postponed Caribbean cruise, and soon.

I know what you mean Friend of Rob, but the eds have done a good job of keeping any humor strictly focused on the house-mates and not on anything that happened to Robert I think. Besides, I think it can't hurt for Joe to know that in addition to people having his number for being a lair and quite likely a murderer that they are mocking him in his underwear too. I hope it gives him nightmares.

I understand your concern, FoR, but I believe the editors have done a great job in keeping with the main mission of this site of seeking justice for Robert. I don't think making fun of the kille - I mean the alleged evidence tamperers - shows any disrespect to Robert.

Too, Friend, this parody does not address the subject matter of the killing, only the interactions of the defendants in their current life. I think we can trust the Eds. to know where the line of decency lies.
