Or, was the slow trickle of details a conscious part of the police strategy of "active investigation?" Or, did the station only have time for what little they reported? To me, if the police were really worried about a deadly intruder on the loose, then the home and street would have been released immediately to the news media to prevent another fatal home invasion. That further confirms that no one apparently bought the proffered intruder theory from day one, except maybe for Victor.
