Remembering Robert

1,096 Days Later the Search for Justice Continues

Sunday, August 2, 2009 will mark the third anniversary of the murder of Robert Wone.  Acknowledging this day must remind those who loved and worked with him of the tragic loss they have suffered.

In the coming week, we’ll look at this anniversary, with the intention of continuing to raise awareness about this gruesome case and also offer tribute to the exemplary individual, Robert Wone.

While Robert’s legacy on lives elsewhere, the house at 1509 Swann Street has become a painful reminder of the savagery of that night, and the continued delays in learning the truth.

We’ll be at 1509 at 10:30 on Sunday evening, just about the time we think Robert arrived there that August night in 2006.  All are welcome.

Let this be the last anniversary of this crime without a verdict.

Amen.

Not to be flippant, but I do wonder how Aunt Marcia and her guests will be spending the anniversary — at least for her guests, there may be no longer such a need to retire early for the evening.

I wish I could join you for this vigil, but I cannot travel to DC at the moment. Please light a candle for Robert for me.

Thanks WH – Long commute I know. We were thinking less a vigil and more an informal opportunity for those in the area who follow the case to come by, say hi and share some thoughts.

Thanks again for your many contributions.

I went back and watched the last “reel” of Robert’s memorial – I’m assuming that since Joe was a pallbearer that he’s one of the ten or so men who rise before the congregation and march out with Robert’s casket. In rewinding, it appears that Victor was sitting next to him (camera angle prevents from telling if Dylan was to the left of Victor). The image is nearly more than I can take, how Joe could stand in front of everyone, Kathy Wone in particular – one callous, cold-hearted SOB.

You know, maybe the killer(s) will show up as well, if they read this blog. Don’t most return to the scene?

Best they stay at home, lest there be spitting and hissing.

I agree with you about the presence of Price as pallbearer at funeral of Robert. Have this trio of Wone home destruction no hint of shame? What is wrong with them, can you please explain to me?

Have been Gandhian pacifist since time knows not to contrary. But as Einstein stated about himself,
“I am a militant pacifist.” And my pacifism does not extend to rebukes, responses, remonstrances.
Gang of Three should count their lucky stars that they did not have to deal with the dislikes of me.
