A Document Dump

We’ve learned a little more about the Silver Spring, Maryland property that Michael Price and Louis Hinton lived in at the time of Louis’ April, 2006 arrest on second degree assault charges.

8335 Grubb Road #202

8335 Grubb Road #202

Montgomery County real estate records show that unit #202 at 8335 Grubb Road was owned by Joe Price at the time of Hinton’s arrest.

Joe and perhaps others purchased the 696 square foot garden condo, in May of 2004 for $287,450.  Joe Price, et al. later sold it in March of 2007 for $320,000.

We don’t think Joe ever lived on Grubb Road, but multiple documents show the property as a residence for both Michael & Louis over a number of years.

But there is another property address connected to Louis Hinton we’re looking at today, 1727 R Street, NW #401.  And like the Grubb Road condo, this one too is owned by Joe Price.

Through the diligent work of regular reader and smart commenter CDinDC, this was posted earlier which showed that in at least one instance Louis used Joe Price’s R Street, NW condominium as an address at somepoint between 2002 and 2004.

“According to Maryland court records, Louis Hinton used 1727 R Street, NW #401 (Joe Price’s condo) as his address for a civil case (tax lien) docketed 03/13/2002. The amount was satisfied 04/05/2004.”

We’ve also come across another document culled from a ‘comprehensive report’ that showed Louis Hinton also using Joe Price’s R Street condominium as an address for a voter registration form in the District of Columbia.  We’re uncertain when this voter paperwork was completed, but it’s possible it may be retrievable through the DC Elections office.  This is all we were able to turn up:

Voter Registration:
      Name: LOUIS O HINTON
Address: 1727 R ST NW APT 401, WASHINGTON DC 20009-2448
       Political Party: NONE DECLARED
State of Registration: District of Columbia

Vote early, vote often?

And it seems kinda pricey for 2004. After fees, he didn’t walk away with much, considering he was selling in a seller’s market. Stick to intellectual property, Joe.

Did I miss the source of Joe’s money? Did he inherit from family (and did Michael receive any), or did he earn so much prior to making partner that he could afford – I can’t even keep up with the number – to be buying so many houses?

some girls have suggested she is from the trailer park — mom may not have been in the picture — not sure about dad but some have indicated a very broken family. not sure of his relationship with daddy – or his brothers relationship with daddy but would love details. source of money was arent fox; who probably (over)paid price millions over the years for intellectual property work. the gravy train is apparently still running – she and victor are rumored to be living in a $2500/month apartment!

The average salary for an IP associate is $165K to start……a 5 year associate…..200 or more. Plus bonuses. He was only a 1 year partner, so he probably wasn’t into the reeeeeeally big bucks yet. But 200-250K isn’t shabby.

So was Joe superstitious….

The Thirteen Club
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
In the 1880s, The Thirteen Club was created to debunk the superstition of ’13 at a table’ being unlucky. This belief states that when 13 people are seated together at a table, one will die within a year. They met on the 13th of the month for a dinner served to 13 people at each table.

By 1887, The Thirteen Club was 400-strong, over time gaining five U.S. Presidents as honorary members: Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt.

The ’13 at a table’ superstition may take its origin from The Last Supper wherein 13 people dined (Jesus and twelve disciples) and Jesus died soon after, or from the Valhalla Banquet story in Norse mythology. That story tells about 12 gods invited to a banquet. Loki, making thirteen, intrudes and Balder, the favourite of the gods, is killed.

In New York at the December 13 1886 meeting of The Thirteen Club, Robert Green Ingersoll ended his toast, “The Superstitions of Public Men”:

“ We have had enough mediocrity, enough policy, enough superstition, enough prejudice, enough provincialism, and the time has come for the American citizen to say: “Hereafter I will be represented by men who are worthy, not only of the great Republic, but of the Nineteenth Century.

I find it an interesting tidbit relating to a the Wone/Price friendship. Wone was said to be so busy that he scheduled his personal time with “friends” between meetings. And some people have intimated that they lost touch with Robert. What was it about the friendship with Joe Price that Robert found the need to maintain it? Robert was a busy man….I would imagine Robert found it necessary to be selective in how he spent his personal time.

What, are you implying that Joe was “special” because the two were in the same club way back in college? Robert was also chair of the DC chapter of the Wm. & Mary alumni club. Joe was most likely active in that too.

Why would it be Robert who felt the need to maintain the relationship with Joe? Joe could have been the one pursuing Robert, and who knows what he might have told him to get him to come over.

Pure conjecture:

If Joe is the control freak I suspect he is (already controlling two ‘love-objects’ Victor and Dylan) he may have viewed Robert – the straight roommate he desired but failed to ‘turn’ – as a particularly attractive further conquest. Finally he could successfully exert his control over Robert and punish Robert for his ‘rejection’ of Joe / refusal to act according to Joe’s fantasy. Poor Robert would be completely unaware of the melodrama in Joe’s head.

When Joe controls / dominates the objects of his desire, he guarantees that they can’t reject and abandon him…. like mommy ?

Now with the murder, they’re more tied together than ever.

okay, now I’ve made myself have to vomit.

Maybe I read too much into photos (it’s that INFJ thing working again), but Price just has that mean little mouth and just a kind of pissy look; more someone who would whine and get petulant than boss anyone around. Ward just looks haunted and dead-eyed (sure it is a mug shot, but still–there’s no emotion there). Wone looks like a sweet person who would go out of his way for someone, maybe maintaining a friendship out of a sense of duty/misplaced loyalty? Pure conjecture on my part.

That link leads to an old fundraising notice put out by Log Cabin Republicans for Equality Virginia. If you put the phone number in for a Google search (like this: (202) xxx-xxxx as opposed to 202.uuu.uuuu you get a page with “Michael Price” and the Constitution Ave. address. Odd thing is that for age it reads “52” but it’s the same number. Not really signif. but a bit interesting.

With loathsome perps, other vile possibilities have to be considered. Including an emboldened Dylan Ward roaming about Thailand and Florida following the murder of Robert Wone:

“Brown was found beaten and stabbed to death March 21, 2008 in his condominium in what police believe was a murder-suicide. Brant Hines, 27, a troubled drifter who attached himself to Brown for about five years, was also found hanged to death from a strap in Brown’s doorway….. Myers said that when police identified Hines’ body, several officers recognized the 27-year-old as a frequent drug user.”

Did Dylan actually live for a while in this Fort Lauderdale apartment building in 2008? Or were credentials posted on the internet about his massage services at this location a hoax?

Questions to ponder….why did Ward move to Florida in the first place? Were the embers of love dying down or were Price and Zaborsky planning to move to Florida and, in the meantime, Price was keeping Master comfy whilest he was so far away?

I think Dylan wanted to go (prolly to “play”), Joe (as always) capitulated and Victor was just glad to have him gone … Joe wasn’t about to give up his day job. Besides with 24 hours of interrogation (so full of self-confidence that they weren’t even with counsel), no charges in over a year and Dylan being a liability, who wouldn’t want him away for a while?

But why not “you go your way I’ll go mine”? Was Dylan hanging too much to hang over Joe’s head? Joe and Victor bought a house in Florida…..certainly not because they were saavy real estate investors. From what I can remember, it’s a modest little rambler. That doesn’t speak of the loving gesture of a dutiful sub. Maybe more of “this is what I can afford right now….the splashy condo will have to wait a bit…..sir”

Joe was in “love” (weekend trips to FL; tickets are cheap; Victor won’t have to “suffer” Dylan), thought they probably were ok with the investigation after a year, Joe held multiple goods and control over Joe, things could/probably/would get worse in many ways with Dylan in DC, best place they could afford (Miami, South Beach – gee is that more of a drug culture than say, the outer banks?) to keep Dylan satisfied …

I’m being repetitive, but – I feel strongly that Dylan was a s0-called ‘service top’ and that Joe was the dominant actor. Joe dominated both dylan and victor, compelling them to stay in a relationship that was structure to benefit Joe, and Joe only. I can imagine someone like that ‘ordering’ one of his love-objects to leave the city, come back, go here, there, I can take away your place to live and I can give it back to you.

OJ Simpson bought a house in Florida once a trial was approaching, as Florida laws protects property in that state from being taken in civil judgments. The OJ Simpson case was well known to the attorneys at Arent Fox, as one of their own was a network legal commentator on it.

Dylan went down to Miami to do the same for Joe’s gang. He informed the DA of as much. But likely went up to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach for playtime so as to not, literally, “piss in his own new backyard.”

Ah of course. That explains why they are holding on to that FL house even while Joe is claiming that they have sold all their assets for their defense in his plea for contributions. Just in case, since as we also know from the OJ cases, civil suits are easier to prove.

Spot on. I didn’t look at it in that light. Re your above post of today, I’ve often thought that Joe was the ring leader of the entire event. Dylan was just a pawn in this tragedy AND in Joe’s life.

I believe that Joe felt angry at a possible turn-down by Robert. “What do you mean you don’t want to be with me/us???” Joe wanted what Joe wanted. And this resulted in an assault on Robert and his ultimate death.

But then the birthday party throws me. Would you suggest that Robert did not have the ability to decline the birthday party held in his honor (hosted by the residents of Swann St. and attended by Robert’s family and friends) if he was actively pursued by Joe? Not knowing Robert, I/we have no way of knowing if he picked up on any unwanted advances if indeed there were any. I believe Robert to be strong and savvy enough to say “Thanks, but no thanks.” or to have a smaller party with a couple of people at Swann Street. Even if Robert had not known (as speculated here) that Joe had feelings for him, wouldn’t the hosting of a birthday party that included family, appear to be a close and reciprocal friendship?

Per CD, “Joe wanted what Joe wanted” and all the evidence of his need to control, I’ve turned around on who actually stabbed Robert. Initially, I believed that person to be Dylan; now, I believe Joe stabbed Robert Wone to death. Joe wouldn’t allow himself to be put through this aftermath if he could point the finger at someone else. And I do believe Joe pulled the knife out of Robert, as he initially stated. I’m wavering on whether the plan was to murder Robert from the outset, or whether a sexual overture/assault precipitated murder.

The needle marks and their location still indicate to me a level of planning with the intent of deliberately stabbing a man, and watching and waiting as he bled to death. Assuming Joe did murder Robert in a rage over being rejected, would he be so methodical in overpowering Robert, administering injections, deciding on and retrieving a weapon and means of containing blood, then so cold bloodedly committing murder? It would seem at least a few minutes went by between any rejection and the murder; would Joe’s reactions have escaped Robert so completely that he didn’t sense some level of danger? Assuming the unsent text messages were written by Robert, it would appear his final thoughts did not indicate that he felt himself to be in danger.

Answering one of my own questions, if I initially believed Joe Price was capable of luring Robert Wone to a planned murder, I guess I can see that he would be capable of planning a murder after some sort of rejection.

TK

The closeness of these other players to the three suspects does suggest the possibility that there was another person in the house (not Morgan) that night, and I don’t mean an unknown intruder. Michael apparently had easy access. Though the alleged murder weapon (and I assume the ‘electrical device’) came from Ward’s room so it leads back to him being the lead player. It reinforces the theory that the other person could have made off with most of the bloody linens.

It also does seem odd that Robert would make this special effort to visit Price, then just chit-chat for a few minutes before going to bed. Maybe he was more tired than he expected?

Given that my personal history has considerable time spent in DC and in Miami Shores, where Dylan was arrested, I want to make this comment. Miami Shores was sort of an early suburb of Miami. It is much more staid than Miami or Miami Beach. Comparing it at all to South Beach is like comparing West Hollywood to Pasadena. I think it is interesting that they bought a house in the Shores. It is not as cheap as many up-and-coming parts of Miami, in fact it can be quite pricey. It is not the least bit gay feeling, though a lot of gay couples have bought there. There are a lot of churches and civic organizations there, and the Catholic church has some big seventies-looking center there where they run their diocese from. I think the fact that Price bought there means that they were hoping for a more quiet life, and of course for the precious homestead exemption, which is why so many criminal types move to Florida in the first place. I don’t think that this case has garnered much attention in the Shores or South Florida generally, because the local news is always filled with somebody being arrested there who fled to Florida. The government leaders are always being arrested, and church leaders, a parade of pedophile priests and embezzling ministers make people sort of immune to the news. The best submarine sandwich in the world is served in Miami Shores, called the Zonker, so that shows there is something good going on there.

In light of LadyDetective confirming that this was not Robert’s first visit to Swann Street, why did they feel the need to “show him the bathroom”….”show him the guestroom.” Seems like he would know the house. Just a thought.

And a good thought at that CD. Maybe it was trying to show good manners and to be sure that Robert had everything he needed for the night.

Unless they provided him with a toothbrush, razor, and other personal needs, wouldn’t “Towels are on the sink” suffice it for an introduction to a bathroom?

I wonder which of the three reported the introductions to the guestroom and bathroom. This would tie into the presence of Victor too.

I think they all said that when they were being questioned…..each said something to the effect of “we talked about blah blah, we talked about the shower breaking,………”, then we showed him the bathroom and showed him the guestroom.”

I remember hearing something about Casey Anthony not too long ago…..they said that when people are lying, they tend to throw in a lot of needless detail to make it sound authentic, and it’s usually the detail that trips them up..

LOL – when I’m trying to gloss over something, that’s exactly what I do – throw in a lot of needless detail to make the awkward bit seem less prominent. And I’m a dreadful liar – I can never pull it off.

If I go to a place once for a party, I’m not necessarily going to remember where things are on the second floor. It seems to me to be a basic politeness, as opposed to saying “Well, you probably probably where stuff is. Head on upstairs on your own.”

Possibly Lance, but it should be noted that there is no bathroom on the main floor of the house. If Robert had ever had to use the bathroom at their house, he’d have used the same one he supposedly showered in the night of the murder. Though I agree, I would have walked him up to his room and made sure he had clean towels.

Agreed. I also agree this is usually a two minute event/conversation on the way up to the third floor bedroom …

Well, and no one’s saying it wasn’t one.

You mean second floor, right?

I would have said – you’ve been here before, guy, go sort yourself out. And if you don’t see it – I ain’t got it.

Then again, I don’t have many people stay over.

is it possible that this was a suicide? from what I have read, this seems as likely as anything.
