Outfoxed

Price Out At Arent Fox Since January We learned for the first time that Joe Price is no longer employed as partner at Arent Fox.  Legal Times’ Mike Scarcella broke this Friday in his coverage of the April 24th status hearing. At the one year anniversary of the murder, media reported Joe as being still employed in the IP practice at Arent...

April Showers

04/29/2009
By Craig

No Cliche Left Behind As we splashed through the affidavit last week, the three unprompted mentions of showers by Dylan Ward on the evening of the murder seemed murky and quizzical at first.  But maybe not. There are four mentions of showers when one includes what the MPD investigators saw.  Let’s count them up: “Joe talked about the shower...

A Curious Absence?

04/25/2009
By David

At yesterday’s status hearing, Fascinating, one of the site’s frequent commenters who attended, noted that Victor’s Zaborsky lawyer, Thomas Connolly, spoke up against referring to the defendants as “they.”  This color comment highlights a developing theme as the case goes forward — will the three Swann Street residents hang together as tightly...

Standing Room Only

More From The Hearing  (Updated Throughout, Video, WRC-TV) Room 318 of the Moultrie Courthouse was packed this morning: three defendants, four defense attorneys, two Assistant US Attorneys, one presiding judge and a gallery of nearly one hundred spectators and media.  High turnout and high interest. Judge Frederick Weisberg got things underway by admitting he didn’t have...

Where is the Evidence?

Where is the Evidence?

Could it be over here or over there? On Monday, The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times broke the news regarding the Government’s Response to Defendants’ Joint Motion to Compel Discovery. The article and the associated response from the USAO probably generates more questions than answers about the evidence in possession of the MPD, given...

New Documents, New Questions, and Possibly New Strategy We’ve had some time to go through the prosecution’s request to deny further discovery by the defense, and have even more questions now than yesterday.  Among them: why are we only learning some of this information now?  To quote poster Bea: WTF? On Thursday we’ll be looking ahead...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
