Upstairs, Downstairs

The House of Morgan What we know about Sarah Morgan and her relationship with the three Swann Street housemates is somewhat limited.  Her silence since the murder has helped ensure she remains a riddle.  We’ve been told that she was initially close to Victor Zaborsky and he may have been the one to bring her into the...

A Small Price In August 2007, one year after the murder of Robert Wone, Dylan Ward’s attorney David Schertler said “Nobody wants the intruder to be identified and arrested more than these three men.” He was referring to occupants of 1509 Swann Street which includes Joseph Price, Victor Zaborsky and Dylan Ward.  We take David...

The 200

Growing the Tribe…    In spite of the horrible Facebook redesign that no one seems to like, last night we crossed a small threshold in membership to the Robert Wone page.  Thanks to all for helping us grow over there and a special thanks to Robert’s friends from the New York area and  William & Mary. A remembrance on the...

What’s Another 30 Days… Or 60 Years? We are now exactly one month away from the next court date in the Wone case.  DC Superior Court Judge Frederick Weisberg has scheduled a status conference for April 24.  Perhaps on that day we learn the outcome of the defense team’s Bill of Particulars motion, asking the...

We Are Family Joe Price’s associations with LGBT law and activism are lengthy.  A Tip of the Flat Hat Since starting this project a number of people close to Robert have shared their memories of him with us.  Longtime friend Don Leypoldt sent us this remembrance which was read at a memorial service.  The William and Mary network is very tight and very involved. We thank them for their support and encouragement. Rob was...

Better Late Than Later We’ve noticed the chatter on process lately in the comment sections. One task we’d been meaning to tackle was an FAQ and a one-pager on this effort that will help new visitors better understand the crime, players, cases and our involvement.  Hopefully this will also help to clarify any questions about our approach. This will become a...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
