By David

Mike Scarcella, who is doing excellent work covering the legal maneuverings in the Robert Wone case, breaks in the Blog of the Legal Times that the defendants want a stay in the civil suit filed by Robert Wone’s widow, Kathy Wone, until after the criminal case is completed. And in another interesting twist in the...

Who Murdered Robert Wone?

01/28/2009
By Doug

Truth Hits the Law A video, assembled from elements we have taken ourselves and other media. I shall offer no other comment than to say that this, encapsulated, is what we are asking here. With all the digging about into this person’s sexual past or that person’s publishing history, one might ask: “Dudes,...

House of the Tiger Aunt

In the motion for pretrial release for Dylan Ward, his attorney notes that Dylan co-founded a small publishing house by the name, “House of the Tiger Aunt.”  The picture above notes books written in Chinese by Dylan Ward.  Some of the more curious titles include, “Naughty Jack,” “The Rainbow World” and “Love: The Best...

01/27/2009
By David

An anonymous comment came into the site asking if we knew the murder victim since we posted a picture of his final resting place. My answer our interest, or more honestly, our fascination.  So I thought it should be a blog post itself. Here it is – Anonymous, thanks for the question. I nor the other...

Chasing Monsters

By Doug

Another View From the Prism This, frankly, is something of a teaser post. I’ve been in conversation with a good friend, D, who has long worked as therapist and counselor in San Francisco. He was not familiar with Mr. Wone’s murder, and recently reviewed this blog and the coverage linked herein. We shall...

By Doug

Two Alternate Viewpoints In the coming week I and my fellow authors hope to expand the number of our posts, as well as their content. Discussing the case this weekend over dinner, we three were again confronted with the number of questions and puzzles this case presents, its inherent slippery nature, and our growing...

Was Robert Wone secretly gay?

01/24/2009
By David

Speculation about Robert’s sexual identity has surrounded this case from its earliest days.  What was Robert Wone doing spending the night on a weekday at the home of three gay men when he was happily married. He must be secretly gay and that was why he chose to stay at 1509 Swann Street on...

The Contradiction of Joe Price

01/22/2009
By David

One of the reasons the murder of Robert Wone reverberates within the gay community is because one of the defendants, Joe Price, was a leading advocate of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights. He helped found and served as General Counsel of Virginia Equality. He is a brilliant and outspoken advocate on the rights...

Purpose of this Site

On August 2nd, 2006, Washington attorney Robert E. Wone was murdered at 1509 Swann Street. Over two years passed before any criminal charges were filed - and then only conspiracy, obstruction of justice and crime scene tampering charges were brought against the Swann Street housemates, all present in the home on the night of the murder: Joe Price, Dylan Ward and Victor Zaborsky.

On May 17, 2010, a DC Superior Court trial got underway and all three defendants were all acquitted in that bench trial on those pending charges.

Nearly four years later, very little seems clear about what happened that night and who murdered Robert Wone. A cloud of suspicion remains over the Swann Street defendants who have denied any involvement in the murder of their friend or in the alleged cover up.

Judge Lynn Leibovitz found a moral certainty in their collective guilt, but not evidentiary certainty. Civil proceedings in a wrongful death suit filed by Robert's family is the next chapter in this tragic story.

We continue to work together seeking answers to the mystery of Robert Wone's murder and in finding justice for his memory and legacy.
